Welcome to the Error Terrors' Innovation Project:
Pepperoni's Quest
- Our hobby is solving mental puzzles. We decided on this by talking about some of our favorite hobbies, and we did a breakout box as one of our activities. Since we all enjoyed that, we decided to try an escape room next. It was a whole lot of fun! We all agreed that we really enjoyed this as our project idea and wanted to share it with others.
- Then we needed a way to spread this hobby. We decided to begin sharing our hobby with children and adults in Norfolk. We wanted to put something on our town’s sculpture walk, so we visited with Tina Mazuch, President of the Norfolk Art Center Board, and Reverend Adrian Hanft, who is a sculptor who has had pieces on the art walk. We wanted our sculpture to be a little different in that it would be robotic so it could share our hobby with people in an interactive, engaging way.
- Our robotic sculpture will be constantly scanning its surroundings, using AI to tell the difference between animals and humans so that it can talk to people passing by. When it identifies a person, it will start talking to them and give them a QR code which brings them to the official Error Terror website. The robot will also detect which language the person speaks and talk to them in that language.
- The website will give them a clue which will lead them to a store downtown. Once they get to that store, they will give the cashier the keyword provided on the website. The cashier will give them another QR code which will take them back to the website to the next clue. This will continue 10 times until they reach the escape room downtown, Encrypt, where they will get a coupon to the escape room for 10% off.
